Shady paths through picturesque forests facing Lake Wörthersee
ATTENTION: Our route is a deviation from the original stage Reifnitz-Klagenfurt and ends in Krumpendorf.
Opposite to the boat pier, follow the blue-white-blue markings of the Wörthersee Rundwanderweg: take the road in the direction of Klagenfurt for a few meters, turn right into a road and immediately left again onto the hiking trail. A slight ascent through the forest leads to the Spintik ponds (first path no. 14 then no. 21). The Spintikteiche are a nature reserve at 610 m above sea level with healing moors, away from settlements and inaccessible by car. The path continues uphill in the direction of Schrottkogel, passing left below "Friedlhöhe" to a wonderful viewpoint. You cross further below the Schrottkogel until you descend to Viktring and Glanfurt. Along this river and the Lendkanal you reach the lido Klagenfurt and the Europapark of Klagenfurt am Wörthersee.
Now it continues below the railway and highway and up to Freyenthurn Castle. You reach a beautiful lookout with a view over the vineyards to the Wörthersee eastern lakeshore. Continue along path no. 7 to Zillhöhe at 536 m. An idyllic area for a rest with a magnificent view. Now the route continues in a large north loop past natural monuments such as glacial reservoirs and Hornstein Castle to our destination at the manor house Gut Drasing.
If your accommodation is located directly in Krumpendorf you choose the light blue marked path to Krumpendorf: About 20 min after underpassing the motorway (and after you have left the Hallegger Teiche behind you) you don't choose the original route of the Wörthersee Rundwanderweg, but you go left (light blue marked) to the Fischgasthof Jerolitsch. Continue below the highway to the lido in Krumpendorf.
